Linen Shorts Outfit days always sound like a good idea until I’m standing in front of the mirror like… is this cute or am I just comfortable?
So here I am. Again. Reaching for these Comfy Summer Drawstring High Waist Cotton Shorts and that Womens V Neck Short Sleeve T Shirt like they didn’t already confuse me yesterday.
I don’t even think it’s about the outfit anymore. It’s the feeling.
Like… I want effortless. But I also want structure. And these shorts are not trying to give me structure at all.
The Shorts Are Comfortable. That’s The Problem.
Let me just say it plainly: they’re comfortable. Almost too comfortable.
The fabric is lighter than I expected. Not see-through, but definitely not that thick, “hold everything together” cotton I had in my head. That threw me off at first. I wanted a little more substance.
But then I wore them outside… and yeah. I get it now.
They’re breezy. Easy. No stiffness. No fighting with the waistband. The drawstring actually does something, which feels rare.
Still… I kind of wish they looked a little more expensive. I said what I said.
This T-Shirt Is Doing A Lot Of Heavy Lifting
Now the V-neck tee? Completely different energy.
Soft. Like… weirdly soft. The kind of soft where you keep touching your own shoulder for no reason. I caught myself doing that in public and had to stop.
It drapes right without clinging, which is already a win. And the sleeves? They hit that sweet spot where my upper arms feel covered but not suffocated.
I didn’t realize how much a good basic tee matters until this one carried the whole outfit on its back.
Because honestly… without it? The shorts might’ve lost me.

This is where I’m stuck.
The whole Linen Shorts Outfit vibe is very “I just threw this on and stepped outside to water my plants.” And I don’t even have plants.
It’s cute in that relaxed, neutral, soft-girl way. But it’s not sharp. It’s not turning heads. It’s not doing anything dramatic.
And maybe that’s the point.
But also… I like a little drama.
I Keep Reaching For It Anyway
Here’s the confusing part: I keep wearing it.
Like… back-to-back days. Different colors, same idea. It’s becoming a thing and I didn’t approve that.
I wore it to sit outside with a drink, ran a quick errand, then somehow didn’t change when I got back home. That never happens. I usually can’t wait to switch outfits.
Also, random thought, the way the drawstring sits slightly off-center bothers me more than it should. I don’t fix it though.

I’m still not fully sold.
The shorts didn’t match the image in my head. The outfit isn’t groundbreaking. And yet… it works in real life.

Would I call it perfect? No.
Am I wearing it again tomorrow?
